Dumas, TX (August 24, 2025) – A deadly hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian occurred early Thursday morning on US Highway 87 in Moore County, taking the life of a 67-year-old man. Authorities have identified the victim as Scott Wiggins of San Antonio.
According to reports, the incident happened shortly after midnight on August 22. Wiggins was reportedly walking southbound along US 87 when he was hit by a truck tractor that was towing a semi-trailer. The driver did not stop and fled the scene. Investigators say the vehicle and the person responsible have yet to be located.
Emergency personnel responded quickly, but Wiggins was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
