Lafayette County, MO (January 13, 2026) – A semi-truck and a passenger car were involved in a collision along Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 41 in Lafayette County on the afternoon of January 10.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. when a 2022 Freightliner was unable to properly maneuver through a lane shift. Its tow unit struck a 2005 Acura TL on the passenger side. The Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the Acura, which had moderate damage, was towed away by Wilkin’s Towing.

The driver of the Acura, a 23-year-old man from Leavenworth, Kansas, suffered minor injuries. He was wearing a safety device and was transported by Odessa Fire and EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center for further treatment.
