Sadsbury Township, PA (June 24, 2025) – A collision involving a tractor-trailer and a roadside mower led to a serious crash and hazardous spill Thursday afternoon in Chester County.
According to reports, the incident happened around 1:10 p.m. on June 20 along the Route 30 Bypass in Sadsbury Township. Officials say the driver of the semi-truck collided with a green tractor that was cutting grass on the highway, causing the semi to veer off the road.
The tractor-trailer ended up hanging off the highway onto Old Mill Road below. A diesel fuel leak occurred as a result of the crash, spilling into nearby Buck Run Creek. Hazmat teams were dispatched to contain the environmental hazard.
Two people were reportedly injured in the incident, though their conditions have not yet been disclosed. The westbound lanes of the bypass were closed for several hours and reopened around 5 p.m.
