Salina, KS (June 27, 2025) — A tragic crash claimed the life of a truck driver from New York late Wednesday night in Salina, Kansas.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred around 9:49 p.m. on June 25 along westbound Interstate 70, roughly half a mile west of the Ohio Street exit on the city’s north side. Authorities said a 2019 Freightliner semitrailer heading westbound veered across the left lane and exited the highway on the left side for reasons yet to be determined.
The semi struck a south guardrail before veering across and hitting a north guardrail, rolling onto its side and coming to rest across westbound lanes. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Jagjeevan Singh of Flora Park, New York, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that Singh had been wearing his seat belt at the time.
