Battle Mountain, NV (September 30, 2025) – A tragic crash involving a commercial semi-truck claimed the life of a Utah man on Interstate 80 the night of Saturday, September 20.

According to the Nevada State Police, the crash occurred around 9:40 p.m., approximately 48 miles east of Battle Mountain. Authorities say a white Peterbilt tractor-trailer was heading westbound in the left travel lane when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the left side of the road into the center median.

The commercial rig overturned as it left the roadway. The driver, identified as 54-year-old Robb Johnson of West Jordan, Utah, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
