According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:05 a.m. on January 4. A 2020 Subaru Legacy, traveling westbound on I-70 near Tallgrass Road, struck the rear of a 2023 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer as the truck was pulling onto the shoulder.
After the collision, the Subaru veered into the median. The vehicle’s driver, a 26-year-old male, and a 5-year-old child passenger were reportedly uninjured. However, a 24-year-old female occupant sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
