Shelton, CT (January 30, 2025) – Two men were hospitalized with serious injuries following a violent single-car rollover crash on Route 8 North in Shelton on Thursday morning.

Connecticut State Police responded to the crash just after 9:30 a.m. near Exit 11. According to authorities, a Honda Civic EX was traveling in the left lane when, for unknown reasons, it veered to the right, struck an embankment, rolled over, and hit a utility pole before coming to a stop on its roof.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Bridgeport, and the passenger, a 31-year-old man from Bridgeport, were both ejected from the vehicle. Emergency crews transported them to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries.

The state police’s Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad assisted in processing the scene. Route 8 North was shut down for approximately four hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
