St. Charles, MO (January 10, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 70 near Fifth Street left one driver injured on Thursday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:17 p.m. when a 2008 Lexus IS attempted to merge onto I-70 from Fifth Street. Snow piled near the merge point obstructed the driver’s view of the lanes and oncoming traffic.
The Lexus, driven by a 21-year-old male from Lake Saint Louis, entered lane 4 and collided with a 2018 Nissan Sentra. The Lexus then skidded across the roadway into lane 3, where it collided with a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix.
The Lexus sustained total damage and was towed from the scene. The driver suffered moderate injuries and was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital by the Pattonville Fire Protection District.
The Nissan sustained moderate damage and was also towed, while the Pontiac was driven from the scene.
