Ingleside, IL (October 6, 2025) – A Lake County Sheriff’s deputy and two others were injured Saturday afternoon, October 4, in a suspected DUI crash involving three vehicles at a busy intersection in Ingleside.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at Route 134 and Main Street. The incident began when a BMW X4, driven by a 45-year-old man, pulled from a stop sign on Main Street and attempted a U-turn onto Route 134. The BMW collided with a westbound Ford Police Interceptor patrol vehicle, forcing the squad car into a Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at the intersection.

The sheriff’s deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was hospitalized, treated, and later released. The driver and a 36-year-old passenger in the BMW were also hospitalized with minor injuries. The Silverado driver was not hurt.

Authorities discovered open alcohol containers inside the BMW and noted impairment as a possible contributing factor. The Round Lake Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are actively investigating.
