Gilbert, AZ (October 4, 2025) – A 16-year-old girl has died following a late-night crash that injured four other teens in Gilbert earlier this week, according to police.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the single-vehicle crash occurred just after 10 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, along Williams Field Road, just east of Gilbert Road.
Authorities said the vehicle, carrying five teenagers ages 16 and 17, was traveling westbound when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree for unknown reasons. Four of the five teens sustained injuries serious enough to require hospitalization. As of Wednesday, two of them remained in medical care.
Tragically, police confirmed on Tuesday night that one of the injured teens—a 16-year-old girl—died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Investigators have not ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor.
