By Crash News Writer Apex, NC (September 24, 2025) – A Sunday night crash involving three teenagers ended in tragedy when a 16-year-old was killed in a violent rollover on U.S. Highway 64 East in Apex.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene near Knollwood Drive around 10:30 p.m. on September 22. A white Chevrolet Malibu, occupied by three teenagers, veered off the highway, struck a drainage culvert, went airborne, and rolled multiple times.
The 16-year-old rear passenger was partially ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old driver and a 16-year-old front-seat passenger were transported to a local hospital with injuries. Police confirmed the driver did not have a valid license and has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Further charges may follow.
