According to reports, the incident happened around 7:45 a.m. on August 20 at the intersection of Kolowaka Drive and Fort Weaver Road. Honolulu Police say the teenager was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk but against a ‘do not walk’ signal when a 75-year-old driver hit him.
Emergency responders rushed the teen to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
