Fairbanks, AK (October 13, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident occurred Monday morning on the Richardson Highway at mile 332 near Salcha, resulting in the death of one individual. According to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the crash, which took place around 6:25 a.m., involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck.
Alaska State Troopers reported that the driver of a four-door sedan, identified as 42-year-old Temitayo Iyanu Kalejaiye, pulled in front of the southbound commercial truck, failing to yield at a stop sign. Kalejaiye was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have notified the next of kin.
Black Gold Transport, the company operating the commercial truck, confirmed that the vehicle was an unloaded ore hauler used in transporting ore between Manh Choh and Kinross Fort Knox.
