Marietta, GA (August 14, 2025) – A deadly hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning claimed the life of a tractor-trailer driver on Interstate 75 near the South Marietta Parkway exit. Police are actively searching for the driver responsible.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on August 13. Two tractor-trailers sideswiped each other in the northbound lanes, prompting both drivers to pull over — one on the interstate and the other on the entrance ramp. While exchanging information, one of the drivers, identified as 36-year-old Terrell Lowdermilk of Chattanooga, was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.

Authorities said Lowdermilk was standing in the left lane of the ramp when a pickup truck hit him and fled the scene. He died before emergency responders could provide aid.

Marietta Police have since identified the suspect vehicle as a 2019 to 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, likely with front-end damage. Investigators are reviewing DOT camera footage and collecting witness accounts.
