Wadsworth, IL (December 10, 2025) – A tow truck operator from Antioch Automotive is recovering after being hit by a semi-truck on Interstate 94 during a snowstorm early Sunday morning. The crash happened near Russell Road around 6:02 a.m. on December 8 and involved multiple vehicles.
According to the Illinois State Police, the driver of a semi-truck lost control while traveling eastbound in snowy conditions. The semi veered across several lanes, striking the tow truck operator who was assisting a white Chevrolet van on the left shoulder. The truck then collided with the occupied van.
The tow truck driver, identified only as Justin, a 10-year veteran with Antioch Automotive, was outside his vehicle at the time of the impact.
