Newark, NJ (December 18, 2025) – Multiple people were hurt Tuesday afternoon when a tractor trailer slammed into the back of a New Jersey Transit bus in Newark’s busy Port District.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. on December 16 at the intersection of Marlin Street and Port Street. The NJ Transit bus was en route to Jersey Gardens Mall when it was rear-ended by a tractor trailer.
Eight individuals, including the bus driver and seven passengers, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening. The truck driver reportedly declined medical treatment at the scene.
