Dallas, TX (July 31, 2025) — A horrifying collision between a Trinity Railway Express train and an SUV claimed the lives of two people on Wednesday morning near the Dallas Market Center.

According to reports, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. on July 30 at a rail crossing near Market Center Boulevard and Harry Hines Boulevard. The train struck the driver’s side of the SUV with such force that it pushed the vehicle nearly 150 yards down the tracks. The SUV was reportedly mangled beyond recognition.

Officials confirmed that both occupants of the SUV died at the scene. Lyft later identified the victims as 41-year-old driver Elio Jose Acosta Rojas and 50-year-old passenger Melissa Rose Campanella. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office released their names following next-of-kin notification.

The tragic incident remains under investigation by local authorities and transit officials.
