Rochester, NY (June 26, 2025) — A driver is facing charges after a dramatic crash early Monday morning where a pick-up truck slammed into an occupied home and caught fire.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:38 a.m. on June 24 on Alexander Street. Rochester Police say a 31-year-old man lost control of his pick-up truck, which left the roadway, crashed into the front of a home, and ignited in flames. The impact severely damaged the porch area.
Two 22-year-old women were inside the residence at the time but managed to escape unharmed before the truck caught fire. Fire crews responded swiftly and extinguished the flames before they could spread further.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed he has been cited for driving while intoxicated and issued an appearance ticket. His name has not yet been released.
