Indiana County, PA (September 13, 2025) – A violent collision involving a pickup truck and a horse-and-buggy left three people seriously injured, including an infant, Thursday evening in North Mahoning Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash took place around 6 p.m. on September 11 along Route 210, just east of Azalea Drive. A 44-year-old male driver reportedly became distracted and was unable to slow down, crashing into the rear of the horse-and-buggy.
The impact forcefully ejected all three occupants from the buggy. The male buggy operator was taken to Penn Highlands DuBois with serious injuries. A female passenger was flown to the same hospital via medical helicopter, and the infant was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, also with serious injuries.
The horse’s condition was not immediately disclosed. The incident remains under active investigation by authorities.
