Turner, ME (January 8, 2025) – A Maine police officer and two others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision Monday evening at the intersection of Turner Center and Bradford Roads. Authorities confirmed that Monmouth Police Lt. Dana Wessling, 52, was driving his black 2022 Ford Interceptor cruiser west on Turner Center Road when a silver 2013 Ford F150 crossed the center line on a curve and collided with him. Both vehicles were totaled due to extensive front-end damage.

Lt. Wessling had just picked up his 7-year-old son from day care before the crash. Wessling was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His son was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The truck’s driver, Sean McNeil, 41, of Minot, and a 47-year-old Turner woman were transported to Central Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
