Hardin County, TX (August 2, 2025) — A deadly crash in Hardin County claimed two lives late Thursday night when a car pulling out of a gas station was struck by a tow truck. The collision occurred on July 31 around 11:30 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 92 near Farm-to-Market Road 1122.
According to reports, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that a Honda Accord was attempting to leave the parking lot of a gas station when it failed to yield to a northbound tow truck. The tow truck struck the vehicle on the driver’s side.
The driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was rushed to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where they later died from their injuries. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims pending notification of next of kin.
The tow truck driver was not reported injured. The crash remains under investigation.
