Barry County, MO (August 28, 2025) – One person was hospitalized after a head-on crash involving two SUVs on Missouri Route 86 Thursday morning, just west of Eagle Rock.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10:44 a.m. on August 28, 2025, around three miles west of Eagle Rock in Barry County. Investigators say a 2024 Toyota Highlander, driven by an 87-year-old man from Holiday Island, Arkansas, entered the wrong lane of traffic and collided with a 2025 GMC Yukon traveling eastbound.

The GMC Yukon, operated by a 32-year-old man from Gentry, Arkansas, sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Wilson’s Towing. The Toyota Highlander also sustained moderate damage and was removed by Schrader’s Wrecker.

The elderly driver of the Highlander suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Mercy EMS to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. The other driver was not reported as injured.
