Nixa, MO (September 2, 2025) – A collision just north of Nixa left one man injured Monday afternoon after a driver attempted an illegal turn on US Highway 160.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. on September 1, one-half mile north of Nixa at the intersection of US 160 and Highway CC in Christian County.
Authorities say the driver of a 2012 Nissan Rogue, a 29-year-old man from Monett, Missouri, attempted to make a left turn in a posted no-left-turn zone. As he crossed the path of oncoming traffic, his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a 2008 Ford F-250 heading northbound. The Ford was being driven by a 43-year-old man from Mt. Vernon.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with injuries. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts.
