Kountze, TX (November 13, 2025) – A U.S. Postal Service employee lost their life in a tragic two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Kountze, according to authorities. The fatal accident occurred on November 12 around 4:30 p.m. in Hardin County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the USPS mail truck was traveling westbound on Highway 327 when it allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 69. The truck collided with a northbound 2003 Ford F-350 that was towing a lowboy trailer.
The mail truck driver was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where they were later pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford and three passengers were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased USPS worker. The crash remains under investigation.
