Vandalia, MO (January 29, 2025) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Vandalia.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of West State Street and South Walnut Street. Authorities reported that an 89-year-old woman from Vandalia was driving a 1999 Lincoln Town Car westbound when she struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian, also from Vandalia.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver was uninjured and was able to leave the scene in her vehicle.
