Vernon Hills, IL (October 20, 2024) — A 30-year-old woman from Vernon Hills was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a street in the northern suburb, according to local police.

The Vernon Hills Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 10:43 p.m. in the 900 block of South Milwaukee Avenue. The woman was hit in the northbound lanes of the roadway.
