Montgomery County, TN (December 8, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver claimed one life and injured six others, including an infant and five teenagers, on Friday evening in Montgomery County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 5:15 p.m. on December 5 at the intersection of Dover Road and North Liberty Church Road. A 2011 Honda Fit, driven by 56-year-old David Johnson of North Carolina, was heading southbound in the wrong lanes of Dover Road when it ran a red light and sideswiped a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu. The Honda then struck a 2020 Nissan Kicks and a 2016 Nissan Versa, both of which were stopped at the light.
Johnson, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, died from his injuries at the scene. Six others were transported to area hospitals, including four occupants in the Nissan Kicks — two 19-year-old women, a 16-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old boy — and a 19-year-old woman and an infant from the Nissan Versa.
