Warrick County, IN (September 4, 2025) – Two men were killed early Wednesday morning in a devastating wrong-way crash on State Road 66 in Warrick County, according to the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Indiana State Police, the fatal two-vehicle crash was reported around 4:53 a.m. on September 3. It occurred between Epworth Road and Grimm Road along SR 66.
Witnesses told authorities one of the drivers had been traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of State Road 66, starting as far back as Bell Road/County Road 850 West. The two vehicles ultimately collided head-on, each occupied by one male driver.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released pending family notification.
Sheriff Michael Wilder confirmed that while the crash occurred in an area known for displaced left-turn lanes, the design did not contribute to the collision. The wrong-way entry occurred well before that section of the roadway.
