Pearl River County, MS (October 4, 2026) – Two people were killed and another person was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 43 in Pearl River County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on October 2.

Troopers said a 2003 Honda Civic driven by 41-year-old Saul Rogers of Lumberton was traveling south on Highway 43 when it collided with a northbound 1998 Cadillac Deville.

The Cadillac was driven by 71-year-old Nevel Anderson Jr. of Kiln. His passenger was identified as 76-year-old Peggy Anderson.

Rogers and Peggy Anderson suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency personnel transported Nevel Anderson Jr. to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Authorities did not provide additional information about his condition.
