Houston, TX (September 24, 2025) – A 54-year-old man tragically lost his life Monday night in a pedestrian crash along South Loop East, according to authorities.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal incident happened around 10:10 p.m. on September 22 in the 6120 block of South Loop East (South Interstate Highway 610). The man was initially involved in a single-vehicle crash when his white Infiniti QX60 collided with the median separating eastbound and westbound lanes.
After the crash, the driver exited his vehicle and attempted to retrieve debris from the road. During this time, he was struck by the side mirror of a passing gray Jeep Renegade and knocked to the ground. Moments later, a black GMC Sierra pickup truck struck him again.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released.
