Sedgwick County, KS (August 20, 2025) – A collision involving a passenger car and a semi-truck left one woman injured Tuesday evening on Interstate 35 in Sedgwick County.
According to reports, the Kansas Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at about 5:34 p.m. on August 19 along southbound I-35 near mile marker 41.8. A 2011 Toyota Camry driven by 20-year-old Payton Bailee Valentine of Derby was traveling from the I-135 entry ramp onto I-35 when it moved into the left lane and sideswiped a 2025 Kenworth truck.
Valentine was transported to Wesley Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The truck driver, identified as 58-year-old Marlin Sepeda of Stillwater, Oklahoma, was not hurt. Both vehicles were reported to have functional damage and remained at the scene.
