Finney County, KS (August 20, 2025) – A collision between a pickup truck and a semi left one man injured Tuesday afternoon in Garden City.
According to reports, the Kansas Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at approximately 3:09 p.m. on August 18 along US-83 at North Solar Avenue. Officials noted that a 2023 Dodge 1500 pickup, operated by 24-year-old Riley Muniz of Pierceville, was responding to a prior dispatched injury crash with its emergency lights and siren activated. As Muniz attempted to pass a 2018 Mack truck in the left turn lane, the Mack initiated its turn, colliding with the Dodge. The impact forced the Dodge off the roadway, where it overturned and came to rest on its roof in a ditch.
Muniz was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The Mack truck driver, identified as 61-year-old Jon Olomon of Garden City, was not hurt.
