Fresno, CA (January 4, 2025) – Five people sustained injuries Friday morning when a silver Lexus SUV crashed into Uncle Harry’s Bagels, located near Fresno State. The incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of Shaw and Cedar Avenues.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the shop was bustling with about 25 patrons when the SUV drove through the storefront, coming to a stop at the back counter.
The Fresno Fire Department responded promptly to the scene. Three individuals inside the shop were treated for injuries, with one transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The elderly driver of the Lexus and her passenger were also treated for minor injuries on-site.
Police stated that the crash was caused by the driver’s sandal becoming stuck on the brake pedal as she attempted to park in a handicap space.
The incident is being investigated as an accident.
