Malheur County, OR (August 23, 2025) – A man from Truckee was killed in a tragic crash on Thursday morning on Highway 95 near milepost 47, according to the Oregon State Police.
According to reports, the fatal collision occurred around 7:52 a.m. on August 21. Barry Thomas Hostler, 48, was traveling northbound in a Subaru Legacy when he collided with the rear of a Case International 7220 tractor. The tractor was being operated by Jesse Dean White, 67, of Jordan Valley.
Following the impact, Hostler was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. White was uninjured in the crash.
Authorities shut down Highway 95 for several hours as troopers investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other vehicles were involved.
