According to reports, Robert Peterson of Edison was struck by a northbound vehicle around 1:47 a.m. on August 22 as he crossed the highway near a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location. Emergency medical teams responded to the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m.
