LaFayette, NY (January 10, 2025) – A 48-year-old passenger from Tully tragically lost their life in a car accident on Ortloff Road in LaFayette on Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred on January 8 at approximately 4:15 p.m., according to New York State Police.
Authorities revealed that a 73-year-old driver of a 2010 red Impala was traveling southbound on Ortloff Road when the vehicle veered off the shoulder, struck a ditch, and overturned.
The 48-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger, a 67-year-old from LaFayette, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Upstate Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
