Garfield Heights, OH (September 2, 2025) – A high-speed police pursuit that began in Newburgh Heights ended early Tuesday morning when a suspect vehicle crashed into a home in Garfield Heights, leaving one person in custody and a neighborhood shaken.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the chase began around 4:00 a.m. on September 2, when Garfield Heights Police and nearby departments pursued a vehicle speeding along Harvard Avenue. The suspect vehicle continued through Cleveland and eventually turned onto Broadway Avenue before crashing in the 4700 block of Blythin Road.
The black vehicle was so badly damaged that its make and model were nearly unrecognizable. Car parts littered several yards, and all four tires were flat. The vehicle had partially struck a house during the final moments of the pursuit.
