GILBERT, AZ (January 11, 2025) – A tragic incident Friday night left an 88-year-old woman dead after a car crashed into the American Orchards Senior Community building near Lindsay and Guadalupe roads.
Gilbert police reported that the crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the vehicle had collided with the facility, fatally injuring the elderly woman inside.
The driver of the car, a 33-year-old man, reportedly fled the scene but was located and arrested by authorities. Police suspect impairment may have been a factor in the collision.
