Lockport, NY (September 10, 2025) – A 15-year-old student suffered serious leg injuries last Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while waiting for a school bus on Beattie Avenue in the Town of Lockport.
According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred just before 7:00 a.m. on September 4. Troopers responded to reports of a pedestrian-involved crash in a residential area.
Investigators say a 2004 Ford Explorer, operated by a 17-year-old male, was traveling southbound on Beattie Avenue when it veered off the roadway. The SUV drove through a front yard, collided with a parked vehicle in a driveway, and forced that vehicle into the teen waiting for the bus.
The 15-year-old boy sustained serious injuries to his leg and was transported to ECMC for treatment. The teen driver of the Explorer was also hospitalized. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
