Long Beach, CA (September 16, 2025) – A man was hospitalized following a bicycle-related crash that occurred early Sunday afternoon at a busy Long Beach intersection.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 12:45 p.m. on September 14 at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Golden Avenue, near the Los Angeles River. Authorities say a vehicle was traveling westbound in the No. 2 lane of Pacific Coast Highway while the cyclist was riding in the far-right bicycle lane, also westbound.

As the bicyclist attempted to make a southbound turn onto Golden Avenue, he moved into the vehicle’s path and was struck from behind. Emergency personnel responded and transported the man to a nearby hospital with injuries to his upper and lower body that were described as non-life-threatening.

The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with Long Beach Police investigators.
