Bakersfield, CA (October 1, 2025) – A passenger was tragically killed early Tuesday morning in a solo-car crash on Highway 99 in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 3:14 a.m. on September 30, just north of Panama Lane. Authorities say a white 2019 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, it veered off the east side of the road.
The car first struck an iron rod fence before continuing forward and crashing into two trees.
