Carter County, MO (January 31, 2025) – A serious crash on U.S. Highway 60, five miles east of Ellsinore, left two people injured Wednesday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. when a 2021 Toyota RAV4, driven by an 81-year-old woman from Ellsinore, entered the highway from a county road. At the same time, a 39-year-old man from Blodgett, driving a 2003 Lincoln Town Car westbound, crested a hill and struck the rear of the Toyota.
The impact caused the Toyota to run off the roadway. The Lincoln driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by East Carter Ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. A 12-year-old female passenger in the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital by private conveyance.
Both vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene by Brooke’s Towing. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
