Mamaroneck, NY (January 27, 2025) – A 16-year-old driver faces charges after crashing into another vehicle in Mamaroneck, injuring a woman, and fleeing the scene with several teenage passengers, according to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.
The collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fenimore Road and Northup Avenue. Authorities say the suspect’s vehicle failed to stop at the bottom of the I-95 north exit ramp and struck a car driven by a 43-year-old Larchmont woman, sending both vehicles into a utility pole.
Emergency responders rescued the injured woman and transported her to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment. Meanwhile, the occupants of the suspect vehicle immediately fled on foot.
Investigators later confirmed that the vehicle had been involved in an earlier collision with an NYPD patrol car and had last been seen traveling north on I-95. A multi-agency search—including Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York State, and NYPD officers—led to the apprehension of four teens from the Bronx.
The 16-year-old driver was charged with leaving the scene of an incident involving personal injury, a misdemeanor, and was turned over to NYPD. The names of the juveniles were not released due to their age.
