Orange County, FL (January 23, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle crash on Hiawassee Road Thursday evening left three people dead and one seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. near Hiawassee Meadows Drive. First responders from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, FHP, and Orange County Fire Rescue arrived to find one vehicle overturned and another with extensive damage.
Authorities reported that a 42-year-old woman from Kissimmee was behind the wheel of one of the vehicles. She was rescued and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The second vehicle involved contained the three deceased victims, including the driver and two passengers. Their identities have not yet been released pending next-of-kin notification.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by FHP, and roadblocks were in place in both directions on North Hiawassee Road as authorities worked the scene.
