Pleasant Hill, CA (February 5, 2024) – One person sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision late Tuesday night on southbound Interstate 680, just south of the Gregory Lane off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 9:39 p.m. when a vehicle traveling at high speed collided with another car. Emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived at the scene, and one individual was transported to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center with serious injuries, including lacerations to the right leg and kneecap.
Due to the extent of the crash, all southbound lanes were closed from approximately 9:50 p.m. to 11:37 p.m. Caltrans was requested to dispatch a sweeper to remove debris scattered across the roadway. CHP officers are actively investigating the cause of the accident.
