Chicago, IL (December 8, 2025) – A deadly crash in the city’s Avondale neighborhood left one woman dead and another hospitalized early Monday morning after their vehicle struck both a parked car and a semi-truck.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on December 8 in the 3800 block of West Diversey Avenue. Two 31-year-old women were traveling westbound in a black sedan when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
The car first collided with a parked vehicle before veering across the road and striking the rear of an eastbound semi-trailer truck. The impact ejected the female passenger from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The driver of the sedan was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and was reported in good condition. The semi-truck driver was unharmed and declined medical treatment.
Citations against the sedan driver were still pending as of Monday morning.
