Knowlton Township, NJ (December 17, 2025) – A New Jersey State Police vehicle was struck by a wrong-way driver early Tuesday morning in Warren County, leaving one trooper injured.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash occurred shortly after midnight on December 16 along the eastbound lanes of Route 80 in Knowlton Township. Authorities say 67-year-old Robert Felegi of Middleport, Pennsylvania, was behind the wheel of a Nissan pickup truck traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when he collided with a marked NJSP patrol car.
The trooper had been using emergency lights and sirens to slow traffic and warn approaching motorists of a hazard when the crash happened. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No additional injuries were reported.
Felegi was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple charges including driving under the influence and assault by auto. He remains in custody at Warren County Jail pending a detention hearing.
