La Plata, MD (June 1, 2025) – A serious crash in La Plata on Saturday afternoon led to multiple people being airlifted and transported to trauma centers.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 2:36 p.m. on May 31 at the intersection of Port Tobacco Road and Chestnut Hill Place. Authorities confirmed a two-vehicle crash with entrapment and four individuals in need of medical assistance.
Firefighters were able to extricate one trapped patient within 22 minutes of dispatch. Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s Trooper 2 landed nearby and airlifted two victims with serious injuries to area trauma centers. Additionally, a 31-year-old female and a 27-year-old female were transported by ambulance to local trauma centers for treatment.
