Madera County, CA (December 30, 2025) – A deadly rollover crash claimed the life of a Modesto man early Tuesday morning in rural Madera County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded shortly after 5:00 a.m. on December 23, 2025, to a two-vehicle collision on Avenue 7 ½, just east of Road 9. Preliminary findings revealed a white Dodge Dakota, driven by a 27-year-old man from Modesto, was headed eastbound when it veered into the westbound lane, colliding with a white Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 47-year-old Madera resident. The Chevrolet driver attempted to avoid impact but was sideswiped, causing the Dodge to strike a power pole and overturn.
The driver of the Dodge was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The Chevrolet driver suffered minor injuries.
