Nashua, NH (February 3, 2026) — Fire crews from across southern New Hampshire rushed to the scene Monday afternoon after a violent gas explosion rocked a commercial building on Amherst Street, leaving multiple people injured, including firefighters.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, the explosion occurred around 3:05 p.m. on February 2 in the 440 block of Amherst Street, at the Greater Nashua Mental Health building. The initial blast triggered a significant structure fire, prompting additional explosions and a rapid shift to exterior-only fire operations due to collapse risk and unsafe conditions.
Three firefighters were injured in the blast; while one was initially believed to be seriously hurt, all three are now reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. An unknown number of civilians were also transported from the scene.
